Wow, Annette and I spent the day cleaning around the house. We started out just finally taking down the christmas tree. As we were doing this I turned the TV over to A&E and the show Hoarders had just started. Never having seen this show before I was instantly intrigued by this show. It was absolutely amazing seeing these people on this show and the extremely problems they had with compulsive hoarding and all the effects it has had on their life, or how their lives had been so messed up that its lead them to this disease. Yes, I called it a disease. These people are so messed up its imbalanced their mind to think what they are doing is ok.
I watched a total of three hours of this show. The absolute worst was the woman with her son. Their house was helter skelter, and the child had picked up this from his mother. Seein the poor kid trying to throw things away was heart breaking. He couldn’t stand to part with even one stuffed animal. When he was at school they got rid of his stuff.
Then there was the old woman with goats who had ate her house up. They ate the siding off, they ate holes in it, and they came in the house and shit everywhere. There was Crap all over the floor, the walls, the bathroom. She had no electricity or running water. It was terrible.
I still think the craziest part was seeing the angst in these peoples face, when experts came into help them and they started throwing their collections away.
But on a good note, this inspired me to get some work done. I cleaned out my storage closet, cleaned the guest bedroom, clean up my home theater, organize my game systems. There was some serious work being done in the Fisher Household.
Fun times, next Annette and I are gonna attack our guest bedroom closet. That damn thing is gonna be a beast to get under control, but well do it. When we start Ill take a before and after pic.
